Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Amir Ebrahimi(“Numae,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Numae iOS/iPadOS app and this website. Numae is a personal insight and reflection app for exploring numerology, astrology-style charts and timing, lunar context, life chapters, and saved people/profiles.

We aim to be clear about what the app needs to function, what is optional, and how you can contact us about your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide in the App

  • Account information: Sign in with Apple may provide your Apple account identifier, email address, and name, depending on your Apple settings and what Apple shares.
  • Saved people/profile data: first name, last name, birth month, birth day, birth year, birth time, birth place, birth latitude, birth longitude, UTC offset, creation date, and sort order.
  • Preferences and settings: app preferences such as analytics consent state, people sort order, numerology settings, astrology settings, and similar in-app choices.

2.2 Purchases and Subscriptions

Numae Pro purchases are handled through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. The app checks Apple entitlements and may store subscription status fields, including whether an Apple subscription is active, Apple product identifier, expiration date, manual grant status, and update time. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

2.3 Analytics and Diagnostics

  • Analytics: Numae uses Mixpanel only after analytics consent is accepted. Analytics may include events such as app opened, sign up completed, person added/updated/deleted, tab viewed, paywall viewed, and subscription purchased, along with app context such as platform, app version, locale, and subscription tier.
  • Crash and error diagnostics: Numae uses Sentry for crash and non-fatal error reporting. The app is configured to filter sensitive profile keys such as names, birth place, birth coordinates, email, and phone from Sentry event extras before sending.
  • Device/app context: diagnostics and analytics may include app version, platform, locale/region, event timestamps, feature usage, and technical error context.

2.4 Website Contact Form

If you submit the website contact form, we collect the name, reply email address, and message you provide. The form uses server-side validation, a hidden honeypot field, and optional IP-based rate limiting. Messages are sent to a private recipient address and are not displayed publicly on the website.

2.5 Website Cookies and Tracking

This website does not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. We may use essential technical cookies or similar mechanisms required for hosting, security, and performance through our infrastructure provider. We do not use third-party advertising networks on this website.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and maintain your account session;
  • save, sync, and display your Numae people/profiles;
  • calculate and show app features such as numerology, charts, timing cycles, and related insights;
  • provide free and Pro subscription functionality;
  • respond to support, legal, privacy, or feedback messages;
  • understand app usage when you consent to analytics;
  • diagnose crashes, errors, abuse, security issues, and technical problems;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: processing necessary to create your account, sync your profiles, manage your subscription, and provide the features you use.
  • Legitimate interests: crash and error diagnostics, fraud and abuse prevention, and security — where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: optional Mixpanel analytics, which are enabled only after you explicitly accept analytics in the app.
  • Legal obligation: where applicable law requires us to retain or disclose information.

Data Controller: Amir Ebrahimi is the data controller for personal information processed in connection with the Numae app and website. To contact us about privacy, see Section 15.

5. Storage and Cloud Sync

Numae stores people/profile data locally on your device and syncs people rows through Supabase when you are signed in. Supabase row-level security policies are used to restrict users to their own people and subscription rows.

Local and cloud storage are used so your profiles can be available across app sessions and, where supported, across devices connected to your account.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

Numae uses service providers to operate the app and website, including:

  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, App Store subscription management, and Apple device/platform services.
  • Supabase: authentication, database storage, and cloud sync for app data.
  • Sentry: crash and error diagnostics.
  • Mixpanel: consent-based product analytics.
  • Resend: website contact form email delivery.
  • Upstash Redis: optional website contact form rate limiting.
  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers: hosting, routing, logs, security, and performance.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose information:

  • to service providers that help operate the app, website, support, analytics, diagnostics, subscriptions, or infrastructure;
  • to Apple as necessary for Apple account, App Store, and subscription flows;
  • if required by law, legal process, or valid government request;
  • to protect rights, safety, security, users, or the integrity of the service;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate notice where required.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising SDKs in the app.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including by Apple, Supabase, Sentry, Mixpanel, Resend, Upstash, website hosting providers, and their infrastructure partners. These locations may have different privacy laws than your country.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards when transferring personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to other countries.

9. Retention

We retain app account and profile data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account in the app; the account deletion flow deletes your people rows, clears local people cache, signs out, and resets analytics identity.

Contact form submissions are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain records. Diagnostics, analytics, backups, and logs may have separate retention periods set by our service providers.

10. Your Choices and Rights

  • Analytics consent: the app includes accept/reject controls for optional Mixpanel analytics.
  • Apple purchases: subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and App Store subscription settings.
  • Account deletion: the app includes an account deletion flow.
  • Privacy requests: you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction where applicable by contacting us through the form or at the address in Section 15.

To submit a privacy request, use the contact form or email privacy@numae.app. Include enough detail for us to verify and respond to your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

11. EEA, UK, and Swiss Privacy Rights

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request erasure of your personal information where we have no lawful basis to retain it;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

12. California and U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and how applicable privacy laws classify Numae, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain data uses. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

13. Children's Privacy

Numae is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age required to use online services in your location, do not use the app unless your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms for you. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child where parental consent was required, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including Apple authentication, Supabase access controls, row-level security policies, local file protection for people cache, server-side contact form validation, and filtering of sensitive diagnostic extras. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

15. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Your continued use of Numae after an update means the updated policy applies.
